The modification is going to take a while to code. Each premium user will be assigned an Xgb of quota that he can use to store files on RP's HDD. The user can choose to stream the link (as it's done now) or download the file to the HDD and then get the direct link (no expire times, etc). We'll start out with a base allocation of storage for each user and if they require more, we'll probably make that a purchasable upgrade/addon.

It's great idea that we could have some files stored on RP's HDD, so that we can download at leisure, because some files do get deleted quickly by the source hosters.

May I make a 'strange' feature request: allow users to rename the files before they download them (after they're being loaded on RP's HDD).

Too many files on the internet come with names that are FULL and COMPLETE descriptions of the contents. You know what I mean. :) It is best that we could rename them as something nondescript before we download them. Don't want to give the ISPs too many hints.

This 'feature' has never been implemented by other multi-host services, AFAIK. Really hope it could be done here, for a tiny precaution goes a long way.. :D

Fileserve and matrix are not working consistently.
Either 1) links are stuck at generation, or produce errors; or 2) generated links expire in a few seconds.

Hope these will be fixed. :D

FileServe is a real pain. Their links expire so quick, it's a surprise.

My advice right now is that you generate a small batch of links (no more than 5) in the case of FileServe and start downloading them immediately. If a link expires, do not regenerate it from your Show Downloads. Use the Download link to generate a fresh link.

I have kind of a solution for fileserve:
I use flashget as a download manager and this works for me:
When you generate a link and start download, it stops after a moment, when it stops regenerate your download link, go to the properties in flashget of the download link and paste the new URL, click ok.

Afcourse, you can't do this when you are not working on your pc, so only use fileserve when you are on your pc.

Thanks hamza and itsme32m. But my biggest gripe against FS is that it often generates error code (not found, deleted) when the file is not dead. Don't know why this is. Also it seems to depend on the time of the day. Sometimes links could be generated, but other times not. Maybe I should keep a log book. :D Like right now as I type, I could get a file generated fine.

If FS sucks sometimes, it makes up for it when it does work. The speed is blazing fast.
